The millions of shells from thousands of guns and the bombs used by our airplanes on all the battlefronts are the evidences of just a part of what came from the idea born seven centuries ago. No one can sit in judgment of any new born idea and say what its future uses may be. We in this country will always encourage the new things and develop them for their greatest peacetime use just as we have with the airplane, the automobile, the radio, 100 octane gas, and thousands of other things. These industrial developments in the hands of our army and navy can then become a major factor in our national defense and serve as a basis for our military production in times of war. ● |
