Gene Wolfe
(7 May 1931 - )

American author of science fiction and fantasy novels. He was Project Engineer with Procter and Gamble (1956-72) where he contributed to the machine used in the manufacture of Pringles potato chips. Then he became Senior Editor of the trade Plant Engineering magazine (1972-84) after which he became a full-time writer, becoming noted for his novels in the Book of the New Sun series.
