John Ronald Reuel (J.R.R.) Tolkien
(3 Jan 1892 - 2 Sep 1973)
English author who was an Oxford University professor whose scholarly works include Chaucer as a Philologist (1936), but he is most famous for his classic fantasy novels, The Hobbit (1937) and The Lord of the Rings (1954-55).
