Henry A. Gleason
(2 Jan 1882 - 12 Apr 1975)

American botanist who was was active with the New York Botanical Garden for 32 years (1918-1950). As early as age 13, he began his enthusiasm for botany, and within a few years, while still in high school, he made his first contribution to The American Naturalist. In his career, he can be considered on of the first ecologists.
