John Lee Comstock
(1789 - 21 Nov 1858)

American surgeon and writer who served as assistant surgeon during the U.S. Civil War. From about 1830, he became an author of school books, which he illustrated, including natural philosophy, chemistry, mineralogy, botany, geology, physiology, natural history, and physical geography.
