Nancy Cartwright
(24 Jun 1944 - )

American-British philosopher of science whose books include How the Laws of Physics Lie (1983) and The Dappled World - A Study of the Boundaries of Science (1999). In addition to the philosophy and history of science (especially physics and economics), her research interests include causal inference and objectivity and evidence, especially on evidence-based policy.
